At CJD Engineers, we provide high-quality commissioning services at a competitive cost. With 18 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in building systems, we have honed our commissioning approach to deliver the best results for our clients. Our project team has a proven track record of success, having worked on numerous large-scale, multi-phased projects. Our certified commissioning agents bring a high level of expertise to every project, ensuring that our clients receive the exceptional service they deserve.
We take charge of the Commissioning process right from the start of the project till its completion to ensure that all the energy-related systems are functioning as intended and meeting the owner’s performance requirements. Our team collaborates with various stakeholders like architects, engineers, contractors, building maintenance, and end-users to ensure that commissioning processes and activities are integrated into construction schedules. We provide technical assistance to the design and construction teams to identify issues and evaluate solutions, and we also ensure that knowledge transfer and training take place during the turnover period.
Our team at CJD Engineers specializes in validating operating strategies by understanding design intent and converting it into an effective operating strategy that provides a quality product to the owner. We follow the ACG Commissioning Procedures, which adheres to the ASHRAE Guideline 1 for the HVAC Commissioning Process. We assist in developing commissioning specifications that detail specific requirements for commissioning, and through peer design and submittal reviews, we ensure that the Owners Project Requirements (OPR) are incorporated into the design and installation.

CJD Engineers offers a comprehensive suite of services to ensure the functionality and efficiency of mechanical and electrical systems during all phases of a project. In the design phase, we review plans to assess the impact on system functionality, equipment sizing, and energy-saving features. Our expertise covers HVAC, building envelope, process industrial, fire alarm, life safety, and electrical systems.
During the construction phase, our team performs field inspections to ensure that mechanical and electrical systems are installed correctly and tested according to design specifications. Our range of services includes commissioning project management, factory acceptance testing, system installation inspections, startup, troubleshooting, technical commissioning, scheduling, training, FDA validation, ISO certification, and O&M manual development.
To ensure comprehensive control over complex projects, it’s crucial to identify and resolve issues as early as possible, which delivers the most cost-effective and operationally effective project solutions. CJD Engineers takes an integrated and strategic approach to commissioning, which keeps the entire project team aware of potential and real schedule changes, minimizing the impact on construction schedule and project turnover.
One of the areas where CJD Engineers excels is building envelope commissioning, which ensures that the project’s building envelope system adheres to State Energy Code, ASHRAE 0-2005, and the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) Guideline 3-2012 requirements. Building envelope commissioning assures that the exterior wall system is tight, allowing for optimal energy efficiency of the HVAC systems.
CJD performs & leads 10-Month Reviews, as required by LEED Enhanced Commissioning credit. Prior to project substantial completion, CJD schedules the 10-Month Review and assigns responsibilities. CJD notifies the project team of the 10-Month Review requirements so that the team members will be prepared. CJD will provide an interview questionnaire to the Owner’s building manager at substantial completion and again 1 month prior to the 10-Month Review. This allows the team to discover problematic equipment/systems ahead of time, and if additional training and/or repairs are required.
